Here you'll choose which employees show in the cycle (included/excluded) and which employees will be eligible for each component.
Configure eligibility
Set eligibility rules for each component and define which employees should be excluded from your cycle.
Who is eligible for each cycle component?
Ineligible employees will still show in the reviews, but the input field will show as "Not Eligible" for the applicable cycle component and managers will not have the option to edit.
You can configure eligibility rules using any employee field with flexible conditions. For each cycle component (promotion, salary, bonus, equity), you can add one or more rules:
Choose a field (e.g., start date, pay frequency, employment type, department, or any custom field)
Choose an operator. Available operators depend on the field type:
Text fields: equals, does not equal, is one of, is not one of
Number and currency fields: equals, does not equal, greater than, greater than or equal, less than, less than or equal
Date fields: before, on or before, after, on or after
Boolean fields: equals, does not equal
Set the value to match against
For example, if hourly employees should not be eligible for equity, add a rule on the equity component where pay frequency equals "Hourly." If employees hired after a certain date should not be eligible for salary increases, add a rule on the salary component where the start date is on or after that date.
You can add multiple rules per component to create more specific eligibility criteria.
Pro Tip: If there might be exceptions to eligibility at manager discretion, you can leave eligibility ON and recommend a $0 increase, bonus, etc. This allows the company to provide direction while allowing flexibility for exceptions.
Who is excluded from this cycle?
Excluded employees will not appear on any pages after Eligibility in the cycle setup nor in the review. Managers will have no visibility of these employees.
Pro Tip: Excluding a subset of a manager's team might cause confusion as to why employees are missing. If you want managers to see their whole team but not have the ability to make compensation change recommendations for certain employees, include them in the cycle and turn off eligibility for all sections.
Preview and modify eligibility
After configuring your rules, you can preview the results and make individual adjustments. The system shows matching counts so you can verify your rules before applying.
Included: if the toggle is on, an employee will show in your cycle. If it's off, they will not show at all.
Promotion, Salary, Bonus, Equity: will show depending on what you selected in your overview. If the toggle for a section is on, the input for each page will show for managers to edit. If it's off, the input will show as "Not Eligible" and managers will not have the option to edit.
Pro Tip: If you want to set eligibility based on something not available as a rule, you can find the appropriate column in the table using "Columns", filter for the values you'd like to change, select all, then click "Bulk change" to adjust.
