How to connect Rippling

K
Written by Katelyn Lopez
  1. In Comprehensive: Add the Rippling integration from your integration dashboard. This creates the Comprehensive tile in your Rippling account.

  2. In Rippling: Open the Comprehensive app from the Rippling app shop and go through the install flow. You'll be asked to sign into Comprehensive and authorize the integration.

  3. Click Assign a group.

  4. Identify the group of employees whose data you want to sync. (usually "Everyone at the organization" so you can benchmark your full team)

    1. If group already exists, you can select the applicable group.

    2. If the group does not exist, select create a group and create a group with the desired employees.

    3. Optional - add additional people to manage the group, if desired. Click Create Group.

    4. Set the priority. If you only have one group, just leave it as Priority 1. (Priority is only relevant when you have multiple overlapping groups and need to determine which rules win.)

  5. Click Assign, then Continue.

  6. Choose when Comprehensive should start accessing each employee's data. Although it says ASAP is recommended, its based on your specific preference.

  7. Return to Comprehensive to complete the sync.

Important notes for success:

  • Assigning a group does NOT give employees access to Comprehensive. It only enables their data to flow to Comprehensive. If an employee clicks the Comprehensive tile in Rippling, they'll see an empty state.

  • The Rippling UI describes this as granting employees "access" to the app, which is misleading. The setting controls when Comprehensive can pull data, not when the employee can use Comprehensive.

  • Employee information will not flow via integration if access isn't granted.

  • SSO won't be available until the integration is set up.

💡 Tip: Want to confirm what an employee sees in Rippling after the integration is set up? You can use Comprehensive's impersonate feature to view the experience from their perspective. Watch a quick walkthrough.
