Does the comp tool update the hierarchy data from ADP daily, or is it locked from when you start to set up the cycle?
ADP hierarchy data stays live - it is not locked when you set up a cycle.
ADP syncs automatically once per day (each company has its own scheduled sync window). This includes hierarchy/reporting structure (who reports to whom).
When a comp cycle is created, proposals are built using the current manager relationships at that moment - but they continue to reference the live employee records, not a frozen snapshot.
So if someone's manager changes in ADP mid-cycle, that change will flow into Comprehensive on the next daily sync and be reflected in the active cycle.
A snapshot of employee data (including hierarchy) is only captured at cycle end for historical/audit purposes.
TL;DR: The hierarchy updates daily from ADP and stays responsive throughout an active cycle. It is never locked at setup time.
